Applications for the PhD program in Chemistry (August 2014 session) are invited from motivated candidates.
Date of interviews: 9 – 13 June 2014 (tentatively).
Minimum Educational Qualification:
60% marks or equivalent CGPA for General/OBC (55% for SC/ST) in M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics/Biochemistry/Material Science/Bioinformatics/Pharmacy.
Additionally, the candidate MUST have qualified any ONE of the following exams;
National Eligibility Test (NET) with VALID CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF or DBT-JRF-A or ICMR-JRF. OR
Must have passed CSIR-LS or DAE-JEST or GATE in last two years with a valid score. OR
IISER BS-MS Dual degree students with CGPA greater than or equal to 7.0
Note:
(1) Candidates eligible for INSPIRE-PhD fellowship may also apply, however, they need to qualify one of the above mentioned national exams.
(2) Applying does not automatically guarantee that a candidate will be shortlisted for interview. The department may use additional criteria in order to shortlist candidates for interviews depending on the number of applications received. These criteria will be announced along with the shortlist.
