Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship 2014 :
COMPUDON – the gateway to the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship – is a platform for students to showcase their mastery in using Microsoft Office applications. Eligible students from all states of India will compete for the title of “India Champions”, and up to 6 winners will then, proudly represent India at the “Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship” (fully sponsored trip by CyberLearning) in July 2014 at Disneyland, California, USA.
Who all can participate :
** Students between the age of 13 and 22 (as of June 15, 2014) who are currently enrolled in an approved academic institution are eligible to participate in COMPUDON Season IV.
** By taking an eligible exam (not all exams are eligible for MOS World Championship, see details below) and entering this Championship, participants agree to abide by all the terms & conditions of the “COMPUDON Season IV” Rules.
** Participation in COMPUDON Season IV – Gateway to the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (hereafter referred to as “Championship”) will offer the Championship on Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft Office 2010 Productivity Applications. Microsoft Office 2013 is not part of the MOS World Championship and hence not an eligible exam for World Championship.
Eligibility :
Participants must be students currently enrolled in an approved academic institution recognized by the Center or the State in which it operates. To compete in the India finals, students must be between the ages of 13 and 22 (as of June 15, 2014). Verification of student status, student age and student identification will be done.
An eligible participant must submit his/her score on any of the following eligible certification exams taken between the launch date & end of qualifying round date as specified on www.compudon.in
** Microsoft Office Specialist – Word 2007
** Microsoft Office Specialist – Excel 2007
** Microsoft Office Specialist – PowerPoint 2007
** Microsoft Office Specialist – Word 2010
** Microsoft Office Specialist – Excel 2010
** Microsoft Office Specialist – PowerPoint 2010
** Microsoft Office Specialist – Word 2013
** Microsoft Office Specialist – Excel 2013
** Microsoft Office Specialist – PowerPoint 2013

Important :
** Exams in Office 2007 and Office 2010 are eligible exams for the MOS World Championship, however, exams in Office 2013 are not eligible for the MOS World Championship. Students winning in the Office 2013 version will be declared India Champions in 2013 versions and will win the prizes for India Champions less the trip to USA for worldwide championship.
** Hereafter, these eligible certification exams will be referred to as “Exam(s)”.
** All Exam(s) must be uploaded into the Certiport exam administration system by an approved Certiport Authorized Testing Center of CYBERLEARNING network within the specified time period.
** India Champions and/or runner ups of past COMPUDON championships are eligible to participate in the COMPUDON Season IV in any exam OTHER THAN the Microsoft Office application in which they previously won. For example, 2013 India Champion/runner up on Microsoft 2010 Excel can compete in a Microsoft Word or PowerPoint tracks, but can NOT compete in the Microsoft Excel tracks regardless of the version.
** The organizers reserve the unquestionable right to disqualify or reject any entry that does not meet the above criteria. The decision of the orgnizers shall be final in this regard. If sufficient number of entries meeting the entry requirements are not received/ available, organizers may, at their sole discretion & without any obligation to anyone whatsoever, select fewer than the designated number of winners. The decisions of the judges will be final and binding in all matters related to the championship.
Score Registration :
Participants must submit their scores to enter into the Championship (Qualifying Round & India Finals) in either of two ways
Register Eligible Exam Immediately Prior to Testing :
If an eligible Exam is taken at an ACADEMIC Testing Center, the exam delivery software/ engine will prompt the student to register his/her score into the Championship immediately prior to taking the exam. If the candidate chooses to submit his/her score to the Championship, the results of that exam will be automatically entered into the Championship. In case, the tool doesn’t give this option, the participant must follow the other option to register the score. Registration of Score is mandatory in either case. NO exceptions.
Register Eligible Exam(s) After the Testing :
Participants may also register any eligible Exam(s) after taking the exam(s) by logging onto their Candidate Home Page at www.certiport.com, clicking on the Microsoft Office World Championship link, and follow the registration instructions.
Entry :
** The applicable fee may be paid by way of current dated cheque/draft in favor of “India CyberLearning Pvt. Ltd.” payable at New Delhi/Noida or to a CyberLearning Authorized Partner given on the COMPUDON website.
** During the Qualifying Round dates, a participant can participate in MULTIPLE Exam tracks and can take the exam(s) multiple times to increase his/her score in the qualifying round. The best score submitted by the participant in the qualifying round will be entered in to the championship. For example, participants may submit an Excel 2010 and Excel 2013 or any other eligible exam score multiple times in the qualifying round. However, they will have to choose ANY ONE Exam Track from the qualified exams of the qualifying round to participate in the India Finals. Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant(s) for appropriate cause.
** The qualifying round exams must be taken at an Authorized Testing Center of CyberLearning Network between the hours of 8AM to 8PM IST. Exams taken/ delivered other than these hours will not be entered in to the championship, unless a prior written approval, for a valid cause, has been received from CyberLearning.
** All participants will themselves be responsible for preparing to compete on applicable Microsoft Office software suite versions. CYBERLEARNING may, at its own discretion and at an additional cost, provide participants preparation materials to train on applicable Microsoft Office softwares but this training material should not be considered as giving any guarantee of success in the championship.

India Team (Qualifying India Champions) :

Selection Methods :
Top Score Method :
** Normally, the participant with the top score in the given exam track will be shortlisted.
** However, in the event that two or more participants have the same high score in a given exam track, the participant who completed the exam in the shortest time will be given priority in selection. Decision of Organizers will be final.
** CYBERLEARNING may include additional/alternative test methods other than pre-decided Microsoft Office Specialist exams at any or all levels. The selection criteria of such tests will be announced prior to the applicable level. CYBERLEARNING at its own discretion reserves all rights to modify the selection methods any time. In such case, participant may request weightage criteria by sending an email to info AT compudon.in
** To ensure wider participation, CYBERLEARNING reserves an absolute and unquestionable right to restrict the number of entries per institute/ testing center in the India finals. NO enquiries or petitions in this regard will be entertained.
General Rules :
** Odds of winning in the championship will depend on the number of eligible entries received and the level of skill of each participant.
** Adult eligible participants, if they are entering into championship and Parents of participants, below the age of 18 by allowing their child/ward to enter in to this championship , expressly agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless CYBERLEARNING, Certiport, Microsoft, its employees, its associates, partners, and sponsors from any and all claims or liability to any third party from loss, damage or injury to persons or property based on or in any manner arising out of their participation in the championship. They further agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CYBERLEARNING, Certiport, Microsoft, its employees, its associates, partners, and sponsors of and from any claims by or liability to any third party for any loss, damage, or injury to persons or property arising from the breach of any of testing center’s obligations.
** No substitution/transfer/assignment of prize by any winner is permitted. The prize is not redeemable in cash and must be accepted as awarded.
** All materials submitted become the sole property of CYBERLEARNING and will not be returned. False and/or deceptive entries or similar acts shall render participants ineligible to continue to participate or win the Championship. Except where prohibited by law, student participation in the Championship constitutes participant’s/ Parents’ of minor participants’ express and clear consent of publication of his/her/child’s name, Institute Name, Exam score(s), and city/state/country location etc. on the Championship website and other Championship publicity material without limitation or compensation of any kind in any manner. That, by accepting a prize, participant / Parents’ of minor participants hereby acknowledge and confirm the understanding that CYBERLEARNING may use the personal details including but not limited to winner(s) name & photograph, school/ college and state of residence etc. online and in print, or in any other media, in connection with this Championship, without payment or compensation to the winner(s) of any kind, except where prohibited by law.
** Participants/Winners agree to assist CYBERLEARNINIG and the Sponsors (if any) in the creation of case studies or white papers (together “Studies”) detailing their participation and/or winning. The white paper/ case study may take various forms, including printed materials, online articles, video, audio, and other digital recordings. Participants/ Winners also agree to make themselves available for interview, photo coverage or any kind of media activity with a reasonable prior notice from CYBERLEARNING.
** Finalists will be required to download their Admit Cards for India Finals and will be required to accept terms including Release of Liability etc. prior to India Finals. Finalists will be required to carry the Admit Card to the Finals venue; participants without the Admit Card will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.
** It is STRONGLY recommended that all finalists (who do not have their valid passports) apply for their passports well in time and get their passports ready before India Finals. For India Champions, it is MANDATORY that they, without any notice from CYBERLEARNING, must submit copies of their valid passports to CyberLearning on or before May 31, 2014, where the passport must be valid till March 31, 2015. In case INDIA CHAMPION fails to submit his/her passport as above, then CYBERLEARNING, at its sole discretion, and without notice, may allow the next qualifying participant to represent India at the worldwide finals.
** CYBERLEARNING is not responsible for incomplete/lost/late/damaged/illegible/misdirected entries or incomplete telephone calls, faulty transmissions, recordings, malfunctions, for technical/hardware/software failures/lost/unavailable network connections, delivery failure or delay, or failed/incomplete/garbled/delayed/faulty computer transmission.
** All prizes will only be available in the fashion selected by CYBERLEARNING. If necessary due to unavailability, a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded at the discretion of CYBERLEARNING. Winner will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting the prize.
Foreign students studying in India :
Foreign students, who are enrolled in an accredited academic institution in India are eligible to participate, with an understanding that should they become the winners of the India Finals and be sponsored to compete at the 2014 MOS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP they will be representing India and not the country of their nationality, birth, or otherwise. No substitution/transfer/assignment of prize by any winner is permitted. Reporting and payment of all taxes are responsibility of each winner. All state/central laws apply.
