ADMISSION NOTICE
(Session 2014-15)
Applications are invited on three “A4” size papers (two pages for the application proforma and one page for the identification card) according to format given below from intending candidates of Indian nationality for Admission to 5½ yrs, BHMS Degree Course in Homoeopathy (including one year compulsory Rotatory Internship) at National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata, affiliated to The West Bengal University of Health Sciences for the academic year 2014-2015.
Eligibility: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English are eligible to apply. She/He should have passed all the five subjects individually and obtained 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates). For the candidates who have appeared for Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination, candidature will be taken into consideration provided that the result of that examination is published before the admission and they have secured the required percentage of marks which has to be substantiated by production of documentary proof.
Age: To be eligible for the all India common admission test, the candidate must attain 17 years but not crossed the age of 25 years as on by 31st December, 2014.Those born on or before 31st December, 1989 or after 1st January,1998 are not eligible.
Selection: In this academic year 93 (Ninety three) seats shall be available for admission to the BHMS Degree Course, out of this following seats are earmarked for different categories of candidates.
(i) Fourteen (14) seats are for the candidates nominated from the following States/Union Territories: Jammu and Kashmir (1), Manipur (1), Meghalaya (1), Mizoram (2), Nagaland (1), Sikkim (1), Tripura (2), Andaman and Nicobar Island (1), Dadra and Nagar Haveli (1), Daman and Diu (1), Lakshadweep (1) and Puducherry (1) No. of seats earmarked for States/Union Territories may vary as per the Govt. of India orders prevalent at the time of admission.
(ii) Six (06) seats are earmarked for Foreign Nationals out of which Five (05) seats are earmarked for candidates from Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi Sectoral Technical & Economic Co-operation (BIMSTEC) countries nominated by Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Azad Bhavan, Indraprastha Estate, New Delhi and One (01) seat is reserved for Foreign National candidates under self-financing scheme nominated by the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.
(iii) Ten (10) seats are earmarked for candidates sponsored by Govt. of Sri Lanka through the Dept. of AYUSH, Govt.of India. (If the scheduled number of candidates are not sponsored by Govt. of Sri Lanka, those seats shall remain vacant; no other candidate will be admitted against these seats).
(iv) Two (02) seats are earmarked for candidates from Malaysia as per directive of Govt.of India.
(v) The remaining seats will be filled up through All-India Admission Test of three hours duration. The pattern of questions will be of multiple choice type, total number of questions will be 200 – Physics (60 questions), Chemistry (60 questions), Biology (60 questions) and General Knowledge (20 questions). Each correct answer will carry one mark. There will be one negative mark for each wrong answer as penalty. Answer sheet will be on OMR sheet.
(vi) Reservation as per the Govt. of India norms shall be applicable to the remaining sixty one (61) seats. In case of candidates claiming reservation under physically challenged category, candidates having locomotor disability, involving the lower limb only shall be eligible. Blind (including colour blind), deaf, and/or dumb candidates are not eligible to apply for the course. Candidates who are desirous of availing reservation facilities under OBC quota are required to enclose attested copy of their OBC certificate issued by appropriate authority along with a declaration that she/he does not belong to creamy layer of the society (for the format see the Institute website and the attested copy must be as prescribed).
Fee : Bank draft of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) in favour of Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, payable at Kolkata (IPO/Cheque/Cash/Money order will not be accepted). No Bank draft is required in case of SC/ST candidates but a copy of caste certificate attested by a Gazetted Officer must accompany the application form. Candidates who claim to belong to reserved category, mark submit an attested/certified copy of Caste Certificate along with the filled in application form in support of his/her claim.
How to Apply :
i) Form can be downloaded from the Institute website. Photocopy of the downloaded form will be accepted.

iv) Two self addressed (six digit pin code compulsory) envelop of size 30cm X 20cm and 25cm X 12cm is to be send along with the application form for getting the prospectus through post.

I WANT TO KNOW MY BHMS RESULT 2014 ?
TILL DATE I DID NOT RECEIVED THE ADMIT CARD FOR THE 9TH ENTRANCE EXAM SCHEDULED TO BE HELD ON 8TH JUNE 2014.
PLEASE INFORM AND KINDLY SEND THE SAME BY SPEED POST.

Admit Cards are being sent through Speed Post. Candidates who do not receive their Admit Card may note down their Roll Number from the NIH Website and come
to the Examination Center directly with any photo Identity Cards issued by the State Govt. or Central Govt. (Original & One photocopy).
