DASA 2014 admissions Open :
Welcome to DASA 2014-15 , the online portal for the admissions of Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) / Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) under DASA Scheme for the Academic Year 2014-15 to Undergraduate Courses in Engineering in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Schools of Planning and Architecture and other premier Technical Institutions in India

Online Admission Portal :
Online Admission Portal for undergraduate programs will be launched on April 01, 2014 and postgraduate programs on May 01, 2014

Eligibility Criteria :
Age :
Only candidates born on or after October 01, 1989 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board / University Certificate [Class X or equivalent] or any certificate issued by the Government authorities only will be taken as authentic.

Academic Eligibility :
Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination, i.e. Senior Secondary [10+2] or equivalent [See Appendix-I] from any system of education as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (www.aiuweb.org).
AND
Candidate should have completed successfully Mathematics, Physics and one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) in 11 th AND / OR 12 th , as applicable in the respective boards.
AND
Candidate must have secured a minimum of at least 60% aggregate marks (average of all subjects of qualifying examination taken together) or 6.75 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent in the qualifying examination. In case, CGPA on a different scale is awarded OR if only grades are awarded, percentage/CGPA equivalence provided by the principal examination authorities will only be considered. Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination with the above-mentioned subjects in the academic year 2013-14 and expecting their final results latest by September 15, 2014 may also apply.
AND
Candidate should have a minimum total valid score of 1440 in SAT Subject Tests (Subjects: Mathematics Level 2, Physics and Chemistry). SAT subject test score has to be send directly through College Board to NITK (Institute Code: 6530). Internet downloaded score cards are not acceptable. Candidates at the time of registration for SAT Subject Tests should indicate Institute code 6530 for sending their scores to NITK. Candidates who have taken multiple attempts in SAT Subject Tests can send each valid score to NITK directly through College Board USA. The best valid score in each subject will be considered for arriving at the total score which will be used for merit list preparation. SAT Subject Test scores received till May 31, 2014 only will be considered for preparation of merit lists for Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3.

Middlemen/Mediators for DASA Programme :
Candidates are hereby informed that NITK Surathkal has NOT entrusted/appointed anyone as a mediators or middlemen to either encourage candidates to apply for DASA programme or to collect fees/commissions guaranteeing the seats. Candidates should not believe anyone who approaches them promising anything on behalf of NITK Surathkal or DASA office. Contact DASA office for any such attempt by anyone. If candidates contacting anyone, claiming to be DASA agent, they would be doing so at their own risks and NITK cannot be held responsible for any consequences.

Submission of 12th Marks Cards :
Candidates may please note that if 12th marks card is already available; they can attach self-attested copy along with the hard copy of the application form. If not available, they can attach self-attested copy of certificate from school in format given and sign the undertaking in the application form and complete the application process. Note that the 12th Marks card should be submitted at the time of admission or latest by 15th September 2014, failing which the provisional admission will be automatically cancelled.

Downloaded Application Form :
After submission of online application, download and print the application form. Sign the printed form and post it (speed post or courier) along with required documents & details of application fee payment so as to reach DASA office, NITK, Surathkal on or before May 31, 2014. Incomplete applications, applications without complete fee, late applications will not be considered for allotment.

Application fee Payment Details :
The Application fee (USD 3750/USD 2000, as the case may be) should be remitted by Electronic payment or sent as Swift transfer to DASA, NITK Surathkal for considering the application. For details on how to do SWIFT transfer refer to Admission Brochure. Incomplete applications, applications without complete fee, late applications will not be considered for allotment.
