POLYTECHNIC ADMISSION TEST (PAT-2014) :
(FOR ADMISSION INTO DIPLOMA COURSES OF POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTIONS FOR THE SESSION-2014-15)
Online Applications are invited from the candidates who are permanent Resident of Assam for appearing in the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT- 2014) for admission into Diploma Courses in the following Polytechnics of Assam / outside Assam (against seat allotted by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India) for the session 2014-15. [including Modern Office Management Course of Girls’ Polytechnic, Guwahati]

1. Assam Engineering Institute, Guwahati
2. Girls’ Polytechnic, Guwahati
3. H.R.H. the Prince of Wales Institute, Jorhat
4. Nowgong Polytechnic, Nagaon
5. Residential Girls’ Polytechnic, Golaghat
6. Assam Textile Institute, Guwahati
7. Silchar Polytechnic, Slchar
8. Dibrugarh Polytechnic, Dibrugarh
9. Bongaigaon Polytechnic, Bongaigaon
10. Diphu Polytechnic, Diphu
11. Some other Institutions outside Assam having Engineering & Technology Diploma courses for both boys’ and girls’ (against seat allotted byMHRD, Govt. of India).

Examination Centres: –
1. Admission Test will be held at Mangaldoi, Barpeta, Nalbari, Tezpur and in all the Polytechnic Institutions of Assam (Sl. No 1 to Sl. No 10 above) and Junior Technical School, Sivasagar
2. For Modern Office Management Course, the centre will be Girls’ Polytechnic, Guwahati

Eligibility and Age limit:-
For Modern Office Management Course in Girls’ Polytechnic, Guwahati : Passed H.S. S.L.C. or its Equivalent in single sitting (Girls only)
For all other courses :
Candidate must pass the H.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination in single sitting with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subject with –
** 40% marks (average) in Mathematics and Science for General Candidates
** 35 % marks (average) in Mathematics and Science for Schedule Caste candidates.
** 33% marks (average) in Mathematics and Science for Schedule Tribe candidates.

For Institutions outside Assam (Seats allotted by Govt. of India) : Upper age limit is 21 years as on 01/08/2014

Examination Fee:
An Application Fee of Rs. 400/- is to be paid in any Branch of State Bank of India by producing a Bank Challan which will be generated after Registering online.

Eligibility & Other Conditions:
1. Candidates must qualify in Polytechnic Admission Test -2014.
2. Candidates with disabilities must be Permanent Resident of Assam and have appeared/passed HSLC or equivalent examination in a single sitting with 35% marks in Mathematics and Science in average.
3. The following categories of PWDS will be considered for admission: Visually Impaired (VI), Hearing Impaired (HI) and Orthopedically Handicapped (OH).
4. The minimum disability is 40% and not exceeding 80%.
5. The upper age limit is 23 years as on 1st August, 2014

Online application : 12-03-2014 to 05-04-2014
Last date of receipt of Printout of Application Form along with DTE Copy of Bank Challan : 10-04-2014
Issue of Online Admit Card : 25-04-2014
Date of Examination (All Diploma Courses except MoM) : 04-05-2014
Date of Examination (Modern Office Management) : 11-05-2014

How to apply :
(For eligibility criterion and other conditions, kindly read the online Information Brochure provided very carefully)

Before applying online, keep the following points in mind:
Applicants are required to apply only through Online mode, no other means/mode of submission of application form will be accepted.
The link to fill up online application form will remain active up to midnight of 05/04/2014. Applicants are advised to fill up the online application form well in advance, without waiting for the last date, to avoid the last minute hassle.
Please keep your ‘scanned photograph’ and ‘scanned signature’ ready with you in the following format :
Your recent scanned photograph only in .jpg format (file size should not exceed 100 KB)
Your scanned signature only in .jpg format. (file size should not exceed 100 KB)

Registration Process :
Step I – If you want to apply for Polytechnic Courses, select option –
“Apply for Diploma Courses”
(Except Modern Office Management)
If you want to apply for Modern Office Management course of Girl’s Polytechnic, select option –
“Apply for Diploma Course of Modern Office Management”
After clicking on any one of the options the Application Form for Polytechnic Admission Test – 2014 will appear

Step II – Before filling up the Application Form, read all the eligibility criteria given in the Information Brochure (downloadable) given. Don’t leave any blank entry if it is mandatory to fill. Fill the Application form properly, upload the photograph & signature and save the Application form by clicking the ‘Submit’ button. You have the liberty to modify the information in the Application form till submission of Payment details.

Step IV – Once the Application form is saved, a ‘Application Number’ will be generated. Note down the number and keep it securely for future use. Now, click on “Next” to continue, you’ll be taken to the Applicant Login Area.

Step V – Now, take a print-out of ‘Bank Challan’ by clicking ‘Print Bank Challan’ link. The Challan has 3 parts. Part I is the DTE copy, Part II is the Applicant’s copy and Part III is the Bank’s copy. You may close the window now and proceed for depositing the “Application Fee” at any Branch of “State Bank of India (SBI)”.

Step VI –Deposit Rs. 400/- along with the generated Challan in any Branch of SBI.

Step VII – After depositing, you will receive both the DTE copy and the Applicant’s copy of the Bank Challan from the Bank. After making payment at Bank, proceed to the next step for entering the details of payment at the website.

Step VIII – Log on to dteassam.in and click on Online Application for PAT 2014. In the next page, click on “Applicant Login” situated in the top Menu bar, an Applicant Login Screen will appear. Sign in your account using your ‘Application Number’ & your ‘Date of Birth’. You’ll be taken to the Applicant Login Page.

Step IX – Click on the option ‘Enter Fee Payment Details’

Step X – Enter (a) Bank Journal No. (b) Name of Branch of Bank, (c) Deposit Date, and press ‘Submit Payment Info’ button to continue.

Step XI – Next, Click on ‘Print of Application form’ from the Applicant Login Page. Take two (2) copies of print-out of your Application form, one for your reference and the other for submission to DTE Office. Put your LTI (Left Thumb Impression) in the given space provided in the Printed Application Form

Step XII – Submit the Application form (along with the DTE copy of Bank Challan) through Speed post to the following address:
