Sportskeeda Blog Writing Competition 2014 :
Welcome to yet another sports writing competition from Sportskeeda! And this one is slightly different from the previous editions. In our effort to improve and increase the level of engagement, this edition allows much more flexibility for the writers and plenty of room for showcasing their creativity. The Sportskeeda Blog Writing Competition 2014 is a two-month long global competition. During these two months, the participants can write one or more sports articles on their personal blogs, and submit the same for being considered in this contest. The articles do not have to adhere to Sportskeeda’s editorial standards to be eligible for this competition, and there is no limit to how many entries a person can submit. It doesn’t matter whether you have ever written an article on Sportskeeda, or if you ever intend to write an article on Sportskeeda. As long as you have a passion for sports and a penchant for writing, you are welcome to join in!
What is the prize?
A sparkling winner’s badge that can be displayed on your blog, or anywhere else you want!
+ US$400 gift voucher from Amazon.com or Flipkart.com.
How to participate?
1. Write a sports article on your own blog. (Yes, your own blog! It doesn’t have to be published on Sportskeeda).
A few points to be kept in mind:
– The article should be posted on your blog on or after 8th March 2014.
– If you have written an article in the past (i.e., before 8th March 2014) which you wish to submit for the competition, then you must re-post that article on your blog now and submit the new link (note : an old article that is re-posted must be ‘timeless’, i.e., it should be a sufficiently general story that is relevant even today).
– The article should be based on any sporting event, player or team.
– It can be in any style or genre, e.g. it can be an analysis, a satire, a narration of a personal sporting experience, a match report, etc. – whatever you want!
– It should be completely original in all respects; if even a single line is found copied from any external source, the article will be disqualified.
2. The article should make reference to any Sportskeeda article. (By ‘reference’, we mean that the word ‘Sportskeeda’ should be mentioned somewhere in the article. Example : You could quote a Sportskeeda article to back up your opinion, or mention a Sportskeeda article as the source of any news).
3. Submit the article link and your details in the form below. If your submission is approved, we will link the article in the poll at the end of this page.
How will the winner be decided?
The Sportskeeda judges will go through each submission and give points to the articles on the basis of the following parameters :
– Coherence of content (20% weightage)
– Flow of ideas (20% weightage)
– Creativity (20% weightage)
– Ability to engage and impact the reader (20% weightage)
– Language and vocabulary (10% weightage)
– Popularity (10% weightage)
The article with the highest score (out of 20) wins!
