1. Name of the post : Scientific & Technical Officer – ‘C’

Scale of Pay : PB 3-Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400/-
Age Limit : 35 Yrs. (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC & PH as per Govt. of India norms)
Qualification : Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent degree in Electronics / Computer Engineering / Electronics and Telecommunication / Information Technology / Scientific Computing / Computer Applications with minimum 55% score or equivalent grade in the final term or aggregate.
Experience: Five Year’s experience in systems administration in a mixed linux/unix and windows environment, including HPC cluster computing systems. Familiarity with HPC hardware and Data Centre infrastructure as well as fluency in using unix scripting language are essential. Experience with managing and configuring network hardware and service protocols in a LAN environment will be desirable.
Responsibilities: Management and support of the IUCAA HPC system and other local servers and network equipment, including providing technical assistance to users.

Experience: Five Year’s experience in software development with databases and web applications for workflow management, scientific data analysis and visualization. Experience of both linux and windows environments, knowledge of Java programming and familiarity with astronomical software are essential. Experience of managing software development projects will be desirable.
Responsibilities: Development and maintenance of database, web and scientific Big Data applications for office automation and scientific projects at IUCAA. Procurement, deployment and maintenance of software packages required by the IUCAA users. Management of outsourced software projects and providing training and technical assistance to all IUCAA users.
