Advertisement for AB Sub-Inspectors :
Application in the prescribed PRINTED Application FORM which will be ready at the eleven district SP offices/Police Reserve are invited from candidates both male and female who are permanent residents of Meghalaya to fill up 120 (one hundred and twenty) (111 male and 9 female ) vacancies in the Armed Branch Sub-Inspector of Police (ABSI) for the Special Forces-10 (SF-10) in the scale of pay of Rs. 14100-350-16550-EB-460-20690-620-27510 P.M. as admissible under the Rules from time to time plus other allowances and special allowances. Application forms will be available with effect from 1st March 2014 onwards, through offices of all District Superintendents of Police and Commandants of MLP Battalions and Principal, PTS Mawroh Shillong on payment of Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty Only).

The last date for receipt of application is 1st April, 2014 .

The application form should be submitted along with attested copies of the following:
i. 4 (four) recent passport size photographs.
ii. S.T./ S.C. Certificate – for S.T./ S.C. candidates as applicable.
iii. Age certificate as per HSLC/SSLC Certificates/Admit Cards or their equivalent certificate testifying the date of birth/age.
iv. Educational Qualification certificates.
vi. Additional qualification, if any.

Eligibility :
Age : A candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than 27 years as on 01.01.2014 with usual relaxation of 5 (five) years in case of candidates belonging to the SC/ST.

Education Qualification :
Minimum educational qualification required is a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized University.

Physical standards:
Height :
Male Female
i. 162 Cms for SC/ST 157 Cms for SC/ST
ii. 167 Cms for others 160 Cms for others

Medical Standard : (Male/Female Candidate)
The candidates should be of sound health, free from defect/deformity/disease. Both eyes should have a vision 6/12 (without glasses) and no colour blindness. No relaxation is allowed to any category of candidates on this count.

TESTS:
Candidates should bring the TEMPORARY ADMIT CARD along with all original documents, testimonials, certificates, etc with them at the time of appearing for the tests as well as during interview. Further, Candidates should bring the following items with them at the time of appearing for the tests :- BLACK BALL POINT Pens, clip board, short pant, canvas shoes etc

PRELIMINARY MEASUREMENT TESTS (PMT):
On the day of recruitment, candidates will be subjected to preliminary medical tests before they go for physical tests/written tests.

REGISTRATION AND AUTHENTICATION OF CANDIDATES:
After the Physical Measurement Test, the candidates with temporary admit cards will be required to register themselves at the PET registration counters at the venue of recruitment for biometric data such as Candidates’ Finger Prints in respect of each candidate which will be captured by the bio-metric application software.

10 KM RACE FOR MALE AND 5.5 KM RACE FOR FEMALE CANDIDATES AND TIMING EQUIPMENT :
Each Candidate will be issued with a lockable Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag, to be tied to his/her leg. The automated timing equipment based on RFID technology will be geared to record start time, finish time and net time of all runners individually. Those who do not finish the race within the minimum prescribed time will be issued a rejection letter and they are not allowed to participate in other subsequent recruitment events. 10 KM race for male candidates will have to be completed within 55 minutes and 5.5 KM race for female candidates will have to be completed within 34 minutes.

PHYSICAL TESTS (Qualifying) :
The scheme of recruitment tests to the post of ABSI and the maximum marks assigned for each event shall be as follows:
(i) Physical Efficiency Test – 200 Marks
(ii) Written Examination – 200 Marks
(iii) Interview – 50 Marks Total maximum marks – 450

PERSONAL INTERVIEW : Full Marks = 50 marks
The Central Selection Board shall decide the number of candidates to be called for interview based on the total number of vacancies. Candidates who have qualified in the written tests will be required to attend the interviews which will be intimated in due course. No separate intimation regarding interviews will be sent. It shall be the responsibility of the candidate(s) to check the results and appear for the interview at PTS,Golf Links, Shillong on the dates as notified at the website of MLP.

  • I don't have birth certificate but I have already submitted. Can I run without birth certificate ?

    • REGISTRATION AND AUTHENTICATION OF CANDIDATES
      : After the Physical Measurement Test, the candidates with temporary admit cards will be required to register themselves at the PET registration counters at the venue of recruitment for biometric data such as Candidates’ Finger Prints in respect of each candidate which will be captured by the bio-metric application software. The candidates’ biometric profile will be verified before the Physical Efficiency Test. Only candidates successfully verified will be allowed for Physical Efficiency Test (Race).

    • Age : A candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than 27 years as on 01.01.2014 with usual relaxation of 5 (five) years in case of candidates belonging to the SC/ST.
