Applications are invited up to 7th April 2014 for one post of Scientist ‘D’ (Pharmacology) in the Pay Band PB-3 of Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs. 7600/- at Regional Medical Research Centre, Belgaum.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 45 years.

Essential Qualifications:
(i) MBBS Degree recognized by MCI Or
1st class M.Sc. in Pharmacology / MS (Pharma) in Pharmacology and Toxicology/ M.Pharma (Pharmacology) or equivalent degree from a recognized University. Or
2nd Class M.Sc. in Pharmacology/ 2nd Class MS (Pharma) in Pharmacology and Toxicology/ 2nd Class M.Pharma (Pharmacology) + Ph. D. Degree in the above subjects from a recognized University.
(ii) Eight years R&D experience in relevant area in recognized institute(s) after obtaining essential qualification (i) out of which at least 2 years in a managerial position to handle R&D projects in a team effectively in a directing capacity.

Desirable Qualification:
(i) Doctorate Degree in the above mentioned subjects / MD in Pharmacology from a recognized University for candidates with first class relevant degree.
(ii) Additional Post doctoral research/ teaching experience in herbal medicine, experimental pharmacology, drug safety, clinical trials from recognized institute(s).
(iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data Management and instrumentation

Job Requirements:
i) To plan and execute research projects in the field of pharmacology and related areas such as evaluation of safety and efficacy of herbal drugs leading to further drug development process and in evidence based studies of traditional/cost effective health practices. Candidate should be capable of independently formulating research program with an emphasis on developing strong interdisciplinary research components through extramural funding.
ii) Conduct of clinical trials.
iii) To organize, assist/co-ordinate human resource development programs of the Centre.
iv) To assist Director-in-Charge in administrative matters relating to research, training and general activities of the Centre.

Fee : Crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) for Rs.100/- (Rupees One hundred only) payable to the Director-in-charge, Regional Medical Research Centre, Belgaum. SC/ST and physically handicapped (PH) and women candidates are exempted from the application fee. IPOs are payable by all other candidates including ICMR employees.
