The National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment invites applications, in the prescribed format, from the eligible candidates for the following posts to be filled on direct recruitment basis.
NIMH, SECUNDERABAD :
01 Name of the post : Assistant Professor in Special Education
Pay Scale : PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 + Rs.6600 (G.P)

Age Limit : 45 yrs
Essential Qualifications:
1. Master’s in Social Sciences with M.Ed. in Special Education(MR)/ M.Ed with DSE(MR) or equivalent qualifications and Ph.D with dissertation topic in the field of education of children with mental retardation.
2. Five years experience in teaching professionals or personnel/research in the field of Special Education (MR).
02 Name of the post : Assistant Professor in Paediatrics
Pay Scale : PB-3: Rs.15600-39100 + Rs.6600 (G.P)

Age Limit :45 yrs
Essential Qualifications:
1. A post graduate in Medical Degree, eg., MD in Paediatrics of a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
2. Four years teaching and/or research experience in the subject specialty after post graduate qualification.
Desirable: Experience of working in Mental Retardation Clinic or with handicapped children.
03. Name of the post : Assistant Administrative Officer
Pay Scale : PB-2 Rs.9300-34800 + Rs.4600 (G.P)

Essential:
1. Degree from a recognized University
2. Five years experience in establishment in supervisory capacity.
3. Knowledge of Central Govt. Rules.
Desirable: Experience in purchase procedures, maintenance of stores records and inventory control. Handling computer for inventory/personnel management etc.
04.Name of the post : Junior Special Education Teacher
Pay Scale : PB-1: Rs.5200-20200 + Rs.2800 (G.P)

Essential qualifications :
1.a) Graduate and Diploma in Special Education (MR) or equivalent with two years experience of working with children with mental retardation. OR
b) B.Ed. in Special Education (MR) OR
c) BRS(MR) with specialization in Special Education
2. RCI registration as personnel/ professional in Special Education (MR)
Desirable:
3. Should have studied Telugu upto SSC for the position at Special Education Centre, NIMH, Secunderabad OR
4. Should have studied Hindi upto SSC for the position at MSMDC, New Delhi
05 Name of the post : LDC/Typist
Pay Scale : PB-1: Rs.5200-20200 + Rs.1900 (G.P)

1). Matriculation or equivalent.
2) Diploma/Certificate in two trades from a recognized institution
3). 3 years experience as a craft teacher in a Government or Non-Government institution
Fee : Demand Draft (non-refundable) of Rs.200/- drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of Director, NIMH should be submitted along with the application. Separate application should be submitted for each post. No fee is prescribed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH category.
