Admission Notice UPCAT MDS-2014 :
Association of Private Medical and Dental Colleges of U.P.is conducting the the U.P. combined Admission Test as per the guidelines of Hon’ble high court of U.P. for M.D.S. Ist year in various specialties.

Forms will be available from participating colleges -01/01/2014
Last date of submission of completed forms -28/02/2014
Date of Exam in Delhi and Lucknow -09/03/2014

Eligibility :
A candidate for admission to the MDS course (Master of Dental Surgery) must have a recognised degree of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) awarded by an Indian University in respect of recognised Dental College under Section 10(2) of the Dentists Act, 1948 or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India and should have obtained permanent registration with the State Dental Council. Candidates not possessing a recognized Dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval of his qualifications by the Dental Council of India before he can be admitted to the MDS Course of any University in India.

Candidates who possess PG Diploma recognised by the DCI with the duration of 2 years (proposed) in particular specialty is eligible for admission in MDS in the same specialty and the duration will be 2 years. The syllabus of two years programme will be as per the concerned university guidelines.

Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the Dental Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the postgraduate training restricted to the dental college/institution to which he is admitted for the time being exclusively for postgraduate studies.

Provided that further temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered as dental practitioner in his own country from which he has obtained his basic dental qualification and that his degree is recognised by the corresponding dental council or concerned authority.

Application forms can be obtained from all participating Dental colleges of U.P. against payment of Rs. 1,000/-.

Fee Structure – MDS :
Fee Rs. 8.45 lacs per year. It may be modified by the fee fixation Committee constituted under the guidelines of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. College security, Hostel Charges, Hostel Security are extra. Contact College of choice for details of other fee.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS :
1. Application form and information brochure will be available from 01.01.2014 at all the private dental colleges running the MDS course under the association against payment of Rs. 1000 as examination/test fee.
2. Application forms and OMR (Optical Mark Reader) sheet must be filled by using blue point pen. You must read the instructions and fill up correctly and clearly as per directions given in the information brochure. Once the application form and OMR sheet is filled up, No change should be made. There should not be a mistake, cutting or over writing. No alteration will be permissible in the application at any later stage.
3. All necessary documents are to be attached with the application form. The application form/ result / counseling/ admission will be cancelled at any stage if any relevant document/ information has been concealed or falsified.
4. Serial No. of application form / OMR sheet must be mentioned in all future correspondence.
5. Do not fold, staple or use pins on OMR sheet as the computer may not read the OMR sheet.
6. Candidate must affix latest passport size photograph on the space provided on application form and OMR sheet and send two spare photographs along with the application form. The photograph should be attested by the Principal/Dean of college last attended / or a class I Gazzetted Officer.
7. A candidate if employed, must have a No Objection Certificate signed by the employer for appearing the entrance examination, failing which application may be rejected.

8. Application form must be accompanied with :
1. Attested photocopy of matriculation certificate.
2. Attested photocopy of 10 + 2 Pass certificate and mark sheet.
3. Attested photocopy of mark sheets of all professional examination of BDS.
4. Attested photocopy of Provisional/Permanent dental registration of DCI / State Dental Council.
5. Attested photocopy of compulsory rotatory internship certificate.
6. Attested photocopy of BDS passing certificate.

9. All original certificates will be produced by the candidate at the time of counseling/joining, any failure or concealment/falsification of facts will lead to cancellation of candidate’s claims to any seat or any benefit accruing their after for appearing in examination. 1.10. Applicants should send their application forms well in advance by ordinary post so as to avoid rejection on account of postal delay.
