National Conference and Project Competition for Students in Computer Engineering and Information Technology :
“National Conference and Project Competition for Students in Computer Engineering and Information Technology” is a annual national conference organized by the CSI Student Branch of Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology, Pune. It aims to provide a platform for undergraduate students to express their views and share knowledge from different fields of technology. Every year it is organized in the first week of March.
This year it will be held in the institute on 1st March, 2014. The conference will provide a chance for students to showcase their technical work and experimentation. It will encourage those students presenting their papers on their mini-projects, final year projects and any experimentation done by them. Even though it may not be state of the art, the student’s own experimentation will be highly appreciated. The topics for the conference have been chosen based on the thrust areas of research in academia and industry. The selected papers will be printed in the proceeding having ISBN number 978 – 93 – 83572 – 17 – 5.
About the Project Competition :
The project competition, to be held in parallel with the National Conference on 1st March, 2014, is a supporting activity aiming to providing further exposure to the student’s technical talents. The final year students can showcase their project which they have worked upon in the course of the year. An exhibition of the projects of all the selected candidates will be held and assessed by the guests of honor and industry professionals. Student groups can participate in both / either of the two events.

Rules For Conference:
** Conference is open only for Undergraduate Students.
** Maximum of three authors per paper is allowed.
** Paper should be as per the IEEE format which can be found on the official website. IEEE.org
** The paper should not exceed 6 pages including figures, texts, diagrams and tables.

** Participants must email the soft copy of the full length paper to csiviit.ncpci14@gmail.com ON or BEFORE 11th Feb, 2014. This should include a duly filled registration form, scanned copy of the demand draft and CSI membership card (if applicable) as an attachment with the paper.
** Selected participant, after receiving of the required documents, will get a Certificate of Participation.
** Selected papers will be printed in the proceeding with ISBN number.
** If all the required documents are not received on time, the papers would not be eligible for selection.
** Selected papers will be intimated by emails only.
** Authors of the best of the selected papers will be invited to present their papers and will get a certificate of presentation.
** The selected students are expected to bring along their college identity cards and CSI membership cards (if applicable) along with them for the presentation.
Basic Presentation Rules :
Total 20 minutes will be allotted. 15 minutes for presentation and thereafter questions from the judges and audience (if any) for a maximum of 5 minutes.
The timing system will proceed as follows :-
1. A signal will be given at the beginning of the presentation.
2. A warning signal will be given at the end of the 12th minute.
3. A stop signal will be given at the end of 15th minute. Students should stop speaking when the stop signal is given. The judges will assess a penalty for continuing to speak beyond the 15 minutes time limit.
At the end of 5 minutes, questions will be stopped, and a few minutes will be spent in filling out the score and comment sheets for each presentation.
The following equipment will be available :-
A Computer with latest version of presentation software, overhead projector, podium and a blackboard.

** Competition is open only for undergraduate students.
** Maximum of two group members allowed.

** Participants must email the abstract of project to csiviit.ncpci14@gmail.com ON or BEFORE 11th Feb, 2014.
** Participants are asked to bring their project installed in their own laptop for their own convenience & also to avoid compatibility issues.
** The abstract should contain your Name, Mobile No., the Receipt Number & your Email ID.
** Abstract SHOULD NOT BE MORE THAN 350 Words (Excluding title page).
** Mail documentation, as per the IEEE format (Font size of Main heading-16, Sub-heading-14, General Information-12, Times new Roman, Word 2003/07), to the e-mail address mentioned above.
** Selected team must bring 3 hard copies & a soft copy of final documentation with them.
** Decision of judges will be treated as final & binding to all.
** Do NOT write college name on hard copies.
** Participants are requested to bring their College ID, CSI Membership Card (if applicable) & Receipt provided by us to the venue.
** The participants should scan and upload their Registration Form, Demand Draft(D.D.) / Receipt and CSI membership card..
** The participants who do not have CSI membership card should scan and upload their College ID card along with their Registration Form, Demand Draft(D.D.) / Receipt.
** Hard and Soft copies should contain name and mobile no.
