Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA), Thrissur has to set up a Programme Management Unit as part of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Sashaktikaran Abhiyan (RGPSA), Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Govt.of India. Applications are invited for the post of I. Assistant Professors and II. Training Associates on contract basis for period of one year.
I.Name of the post : Assistant Professor
Qualification : The qualification for the posts of Assistant Professors is as prescribed by UGC. The discipline and number of vacancies are specified below:
Sociology – 1
Gender Studies – 1
Desired Qualification : The eligibility criteria for all posts are as prescribed by University Grants Commission. The applicant should have Post Graduate degree in concerned discipline with minimum of 55% Marks and should have qualified UGC/NET conducted by UGC in the concerned Subject. In addition to the above, the candidate should have a minimum of two years of training and research experience in the area of local governance. He/she should have good knowledge of the planning process in local governments. Ph.D in relevant Subject is desirable.
II. Name of the post : Training Associate
Qualification : The qualification for the posts of Training Associates is Post Graduate degree. The discipline and number of vacancies are specified below:
MBA (HR Specialisation) – 1
Master of Social Work (Community Development Specialisation) – 1
Desired Qualification : The applicant should have Post Graduate degree in concerned discipline with minimum of 55% Marks. The name of the post and discipline prescribed for each post is given Below

In addition to the above, the candidates should have a minimum of one year training and research experience in the area of local governance. He/she should have good knowledge of the planning process in local governments. Attendance in certified courses in Training Skills organised by DoPT or other Government/ approved agencies is desirable.
Other terms and conditions : Age between 25-45. The appointment is on contract basis for a period of one year with a consolidated pay of Rs.20, 000 per month. The contract will be renewed every year, if necessary, based on performance reviews and extension of RGPSA programme.
