Application process :
Application process will be in two stages. Stage I application should be submitted by all applicants (which is the current application that you have to fill). Only those who are invited to the next stage of the selection (the Personal Interview process) are required to submit the Stage II application. Additional details such as statement of purpose essays, description of your work experience, if any, and referee reports are required only at Stage II.
Details about submitting the Stage II application would be sent at the appropriate time to all those who are invited for the Personal Interview process.
Essential requirements for Stage I : All applicants should have a valid CAT Score.
Who Can Apply :
i) Graduates in any discipline from a recognised University (or professional qualifications equivalent to that of a university degree as recognized by the UGC) with a first class or 60% and above in their qualifying examination.
ii) Final year students (of the above-mentioned program) are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they meet all requirements for the qualifying degree before the start of the program and produce provisional certificate of completion within two months of joining the program (by September 30, 2014)
Categories Exempted From CAT Score :
i) IIT Graduates who obtain a CGPA of 8 and above (on the scale of 10) are exempted from CAT score.
ii) Foreign / NRI applicants should have a valid GMAT score. In addition to online submission of application such candidates should forward a hard copy of the application along with a certificate from the Indian Embassy on their resident status.
iii) Sponsored candidates can present valid scores in XAT or MAT if they do not have CAT scores. Such candidates should have a minimum of two years work experience in the sponsoring organization. In addition to online submission of application such candidates should forward a hard copy of the application through their sponsoring organization.
iv) Defence personnel are exempted from the requirement of a valid score in national level entrance tests (CAT/ XAT/ MAT). In addition to online submission of application such candidates should forward a hard copy of the application through official channel.
Fee: The application fees have to be paid only through Internet Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card
Male Candidates (General/OBC) : Rs 1500
SC / ST / PD Category Candidates : Rs 750
Women Candidates of any category : Nil
For Foreign and NRI applicants : The fee for Foreign and NRI candidates is US $100. They should pay the application fee by way of demand draft or bankers cheque drawn in favour of “The Registrar, IIT Madras” and payable at Chennai. Draft from any bank is acceptable.
