Tech Fest-A National Level Student’s Competition 2014 :
The Main Objective of the Tech Fest – 2014 is to bring all the Students Studying in the area of Diploma Engineering together by various type of Competitive Events. It will help to motivate the students and improve of Technical and Shop Skills of the diploma students.
The Main Events of Tech Fest – 2014 :
** Brain Teaser (spot Gaming)
** Web Designing
** Drawing With Auto Cad
** Lan Gaming
** GK Quiz
** Technical Quiz
** Robotics
** Technical Poster/paper Presentation
Note :
There will not be any on-spot registration.
Brain Teasers(Spot Gaming) :
This event will be consisting of lot many brainstorming games like Tongue twister, Su-do-ku, logical puzzles, Vocabulary checking word games and many more fun games which will test participants’ witness as well as reasoning skills.
Rules :
** This is a solo/team event. Each participant has to register for the event individually. There is no upper limit on number of participants per college/department. (Please do bring the ID card of college).
** Certificate of participation will be issued to the participants who register themselves prior to the beginning of Tech Fest – 2014. Prizes will be given to the winners.
** Laptops, books or any type of written/printed materials, use of internet/mobile phones are strictly prohibited.
** Organizing committee has a right to disqualify a participant in case of any indiscipline.
** Decision of judges shall be final and it will be binding to all.
** On the spot registration is not allowed.
Web Designing :
This event focus on aesthetic static and dynamic web site development using open source technologies. It tests the conceptual understanding of web page design using HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheet). It also covers basics to implement, test and debug the client-side (JavaScript) and server side (PHP) scripts.
Rules :
** This is a solo event. Individual participant has to register for the event. Unlimited participants per college/department are allowed. (Please do bring the ID card of college).
** Certificate of participation will be issued to each participant. Prizes and certificates will be given to the winners.
** Laptops, books or any type of written/printed materials, use of internet/mobile phones are strictly prohibited.
** Written/online objective test will be held for elimination round. This test will be of objective questions of multiple choices from HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP.
** Final round contain the implementation, debugging and error solving of one/ more programs in client-side (JavaScript) and server-side (PHP) scripting languages with prescribed time limit.
** Organizing committee has a right to disqualify a participant in case of any indiscipline.
** Decision of judges shall be final and it will be binding to all.
** On the spot registration is not allowed.
Drawing with Auto Cad :
Drawing is a language of engineers and now a days Computer Aided Drawing is a very common practice in the industry. Every industry expect that the fresh engineers coming out of the institute should be aware about CAD methodologies. Keeping this in mind this event is organized to provide a platform to the students for learning with the fun.
Rules :
** This is a solo event. Individual participant has to register for the event. Unlimited participants per college/department are allowed. (Please do bring the ID card of college).
** Certificate of participation will be issued to each participant. Prizes and certificates will be given to the winners.
** Laptops, books or any type of written/printed materials, use of internet/mobile phones are strictly prohibited.
** Software will be AutoCAD 2009 or similar version. Time limit will be 30 minutes.
** Evaluation will be based on percentage completion of drawing, number of features/commands used, dimensioning methods, etc.
** Elimination will be carried out depending upon the number of entries.
** Organizing committee has a right to disqualify a participant in case of any indiscipline.
** Decision of judges shall be final and it will be binding to all.
** On the spot registration is not allowed.
LAN Gaming :
The Need for Speed (NFS) Most Wanted is a racing game. In this game, the player controls a race car in a variety of races, the goal being to win the race.
Rules :
** This is a solo event. Individual participant has to register for the event.(Please do bring the ID card of college).
** Certificate of participation will be issued to each participant. Prizes and certificates will be given to the winners.
** One participant per team will be allowed.
** All the winners will play a final round and final winners will be selected among them.
** Organizing committee has a right to disqualify a participant in case of any indiscipline.
** Decision of judges shall be final and it will be binding to all.
** On the spot registration is not allowed.
General Knowledge QUIZ :
General Knowledge requires an insight into day-to-day world along with some basic knowledge. The event focuses on these skills of the student which are much necessary in today’s scenario. It will cover the areas like history, geography, sports, awards, science, current affairs, politics etc.

** Participation will be as a team of two members. Individual participant has to register for the event. Unlimited participants per college/department are allowed. (Please do bring the ID card of college).
** Certificate of participation will be issued to each participant. Prizes and certificates will be given to the winners
** Written/online objective test will be held for elimination round. This test will be of objective questions of multiple choices from areas like history, geography, sports, awards, science, current affairs, politics etc.
** Final round will also have questions of multiple choices from areas like history, geography, sports, awards, science, current affairs, politics etc.
** Organizing committee has a right to disqualify a participant in case of any indiscipline.
** Decision of judges shall be final and it will be binding to all.
** On the spot registration is not allowed.
Robotics :
Robotics is the most happening and awaited event for TECH FEST. There are three different tracks designed for the same and explained.
Rules :
** This is a team event. Maximum two participants are allowed in a team. Both the participants must be the bonafied student of polytechnic institute of india.
** Unlimited participants per college/department are allowed. (Please do bring the ID card of college).
** Certificate of participation will be issued to all the participant, who has registered in the event. Prizes and certificates will be given to the winners.
** Maximum size of the robot must not exceed 10x10x10 inches (L X B X H)..
** If a robot malfunctions during any round, it will not be given another chance to compete in the same round.
** Robots must be assembled robots; commercially available robocars or use of commercially available steering mechanisms will lead to disqualification.
** Organizing committee has a right to disqualify a participant in case of any indiscipline
** Decision of judges shall be final and it will be binding to all.
** On the spot registration is not allowed.
Paper / Poster Presentation :
There are five tracks in this event. (These are Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and communication, Computer Engineering & Information technology). The recent trend in respective engineering and technology is the subject for respective track. One / team of two can present either Paper or Poster.
Rules :
** This is a team event. Maximum two participants are allowed in a team. Both the participants must be the bonafied student of polytechnic institute of India.
** Unlimited participants per college/department are allowed. (Please do bring the ID card of college).
** Certificate of participation will be issued to all the participant, who has registered in the event and presented the Paper/ Poster. Prizes and certificates will be given to the winners.
** Submit your Paper/ Poster on Email id : techfest.ids@nirmauni.ac.in on or before date 25/01/2014.
** Write name of track given in broucher in subject line. Also mention whether it is for poster or paper.
** Intimation about the selection of paper/poster will be given through mail latest by date 27/01/2014.
** Last date of Registration 30/01/2014.
** Selected participants for paper presentation have to bring their power point presentations in a pendrive and send by email also.
** For poster presentations, participants have to bring poster using A2 size sheet. (Poster can be made by any tools).
** For each participant ,10 minutes time will be given for paper/ poster presentation and 3 minutes for question answer session.
** On the spot registartion is not allowed.
** Organizing committee has a right to disqualify a participant in case of any indiscipline.
** Decision of judges shall be final and it will be binding to all.
Tech Quiz :
There are five branches in this event. (These are Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and communication, Computer and Information technology). The Fundamentals of respective engineering field is the subject of the quiz.
Rules :
** This is a team event. Maximum two participants are allowed in a team. Both the participants must be the bonafied student of polytechnic institute of india.
** Unlimited participants per college/department are allowed. (Please do bring the ID card of college).
** Certificate of participation will be issued to all the participant, who has registered in the event. Prizes and certificates will be given to the winners
** If number of teams exceeds five then screening/ elimination round will be conducted. In screening/ elimination round the written test will be conducted. In written test multiple choice type objective question related to fundamentals of concern engineering branch will be asked.
** Out of all, 5 teams will be qualified for the final round.
** Organizing committee has a right to disqualify a participant in case of any indiscipline.
** Decision of judges shall be final and it will be binding to all.
** On the spot registration is not allowed.
