4TH NLIU – JUSTICE R.K. TANKHA MEMORIAL NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2014 :
It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that National Law Institute University, Bhopal will be hosting the fourth edition of the NLIU – Justice R.K. Tankha Memorial National Moot Court Competition from February 28th to March 2nd, 2014.
Previous editions of the NLIU – Justice R.K. Tankha Memorial Moot have witnessed participation from more than 40 teams across India. The problem for this edition of the moot has been drafted by Mr. Rishabh Sancheti, Advocate, Supreme Court and is based on Competition law and Constitutional law.

We request you to kindly confirm your participation at the earliest by sending us an email with the subject 4th NLIU – Justice R.K. A hard copy of the duly filled registration form and the demand draft should reach the organizers latest by January 31, 2014.

THEME AND DATE :
The problem for the 4th NLIU – Justice R.K. Tankha Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2014 is based on emerging competition law issues. The Competition shall be held from 28/02/2014 to 02/03/2014 at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal.
LANGUAGE : The competition shall be conducted in English language only.
ELIGIBILITY : The Competition shall be open for students who are pursuing three or five-year LL.B. Degree Course in the Universities. LL.M. Degree Course students are not eligible to participate in the Competition.
TEAM COMPOSITION :
Each team shall consist of a minimum of two members and a maximum of three members. This team composition cannot be altered under any circumstances.
Every team shall consist of two speakers. Teams may have only one researcher. No observer/additional member can be part of a team in any capacity. If any fourth member is accompanying the team, he/she will not be allowed to sit and observe the oral rounds, will not be provided accommodation/food and will not be given a certificate by the organizers under any circumstances whatsoever.
REGISTRATION :
** Teams must provisionally register themselves by January 20, 2014 by sending an email to mca.nliu@gmail.com with the subject as “Confirmation for 4th NLIU – Justice R.K. Tankha Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2014”.
** Registration fee of Rs. 3000 per team (only one team per University or one team per college where more than one college is affiliated with a University) will have to be paid by each team. The payment will have to be made in the form of a demand draft in favour of ‘The Director, National Law Institute University, Bhopal’, payable at Bhopal.
** A soft copy of the duly filled registration form and the demand draft should reach the organizers latest by January 27, 2014. The form should be printed, signed (and sealed), scanned and mailed to mca.nliu[at]gmail.comwith the subject as “Registration Form for 4th NLIU – Justice R.K. Tankha Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2014”.
** A hard copy of the duly filled registration form and the demand draft should reach the organizers latest by January 31, 2014 at the following address:

SUBMISSIONS :
** Each team shall be assigned a code upon registration.
** There shall be two preliminary rounds, a Quarter Final, a Semi Final and a Final.
AWARDS & CERTIFICATES :
Winning Team Award: The winning team will receive a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 20,000.
Runners – up Award: The 1st runners up will get a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000
Best Oralist: The best oralist in the preliminary round will get trophy and cash prize of Rs. 5,000.
Best Memorial: The team with best memorial will receive trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 5,000.
