APWD invites Candidates for filling up of 05 (Five) Posts of Assistant Town Planner Gr-II purely on contract basis through walk- in-Interview on a consolidated pay @ Rs. 26,000/- per month initially for 6 months period or till the posts are filled up through UPSC.

Requisite Qualification :
Essential:-
i) Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute or having passed Part A & B Examination of Institution of Engineers (India) in Civil Engineering
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from a recognized University/ Institute or having passed AIIA (Part A & B) examination conducted by Indian Institute of Architects and recognized by Council of Architecture
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Planning from a recognized University/ Institute; And
ii) Post Graduate Degree or Post Graduate Diploma (2 Years) in Urban Planning or Regional Planning or Town Planning or Housing or Environmental Planning recognized by Institute of Town Planners (India) from a recognized University/ Institute.
OR
Passed AITP Examination conducted by the Institute of Town Planners (India).

Desirable:
i) One year professional experience in Town & Country Planning from a Government./private organization engaged in Town & Country Planning works
ii) One year experience in handling of Geographical Information System (GIS) Software from a Government or private organization engaged in Town & Country Planning works.

Age Limit : Not exceeding 30 years

Attested copies of documents to be produced at the time of interview alongwith the application in the prescribed proforma as at Annexure – I.
i) Mark sheets and Certificates in support of Educational Qualifications.
ii) Experience Certificate specifying nature and period of Experience.
iii) Certificate in support of age.

General Information :
i) The applicant should ensure that he/she fulfills all the eligibility requirements and that the particulars furnished by him/her are correct in all respects.

ii) The candidates shall be ready to work in any part of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

iii) The engagement will be purely on contract basis for a period of 6 months or till the posts are filled up through UPSC, from the date of signing of the contract within the stipulated period as per the offer of appointment letter. Any extension or renewal of the appointment beyond 6 months will be subjected to review of the work performance. This contract appointment does not bestow any right upon the candidate for regular appointment for any post under APWD.

iv) The appointment will be made purely on merit basis on consolidated pay of Rs. 26,000/- per month.

v) No TA/DA shall be payable for attending the walk- in interview at Port Blair.

vi) The applicant should first confirm his/her participation through e-mail and send a soft copy of application in the prescribed format as attachment to the E-mail to tcpdtcp@gmail.com latest by 20th January 2014.

Interested candidates may confirm their participation & appear for the Walk-in- interview to be held in the Chief Engineer’s Office, APWD, Port Blair on 27th January 2014 at 9.30 AM. The candidates are advised to bring their original Certificates/Testimonials with the application for verification at the time of interview.
