A position of JRF (with consolidated emolument of Rs. 16,000 per month) for 2½ years is available in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, IIT Hyderabad to work on a DST sponsored project (SERB/F/0808/2013-2014 dated 20/05/2013) titled “Feasibility studies of joining titanium aluminides through friction stir welding”.

Eligibility:
The candidate should be NET(JRF or LS)/GATE qualified having
M.Sc./M.E./M.Tech. in Materials/Metallurgical Engineering with strong background in Physical/Mechanical Metallurgy with 65% or 7/10 CGP or
M.E./M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering and excellent domain knowledge in theory of crystal plasticity or
M.Sc. in (Physics) with 65% and excellent knowledge in the areas of crystallography.
In addition, the candidate should have
** Proficiency in scientific writing
** Proficiency with computers

Age Limit : The upper age limit will be 28 years for JRF position as on the day on which the application is made. The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, and women, and physically handicapped candidates. Shortlisted candidates may have to give an interview.
