PRE SEA GP Rating Course (General Purpose) :
This programme enables participants to join the merchant navy as General Purpose ratings combined Deck/Engine side. With further sea – service they will be promoted as a Oiler, motor man, fitter, Able-Bodied Sea men and BOSUN. They can also be promoted to officer level with certain service with qualifications.
Curriculum for Pre-Sea Training for G.P Rating :
Standard marine Navigational Vocabulary and use of English Language. Knowledge of ships and shipping industry. Contribute to Monitoring and controlling sea watch. Steer the ship as per the Helm Orders. Keep a proper look out by site and by Hearing. Operate Emergency equipment and apply Emergency Procedure. Survival at sea in the Event of Ship abandonment. Minimize Risk of Fire, Fight and Extinguish Fires. Take Immediate Action Upon Encountering an Accident or Other Medical Emergency. Comply with Emergency Procedure, Pollution Prevent and environment protection. Human Relationship on Board Ship. Machinery in Engine Room, Service maintenance of a engine room machineries. Carry Out Watch Keeping Duties ion Deck as well as in Engine room, Safe Working Practice to be observed.
Eligibility Criteria : 10th Pass – total Average mark is 40% plus 40% in English separate.
Age: 17 ½ to 25 Years
Duration: 6 months
Fees : Rs.2,00,000/- inclusive of Tuition fee, Board & Lodging, Uniform and books.
Medically fit as per M.S (Medical Examination of seafarers) Rules 2000. Eyesight 6×6.
Certificate Course in Maritime Catering :
Saloon staffs are responsible for good housekeeping and providing tasty and Hygienic food for personnel on board. A competent person can rise to the level of Chief Cook cum catering Officer along with this he can undertake the ships accounts if qualification permits. Indian Seafarers are well recognized for their competence in both Indian and Foreign based shipping companies, and they have wide – range of opportunities in foreign shipping industry. In order to further strengthen Indian participation, Ministry of shipping, Government of India, have introduced new measures to assist Indian Seafarers through effective training as per IMO Standards.
Curriculum for Pre –Sea Training for Maritime Catering :
Working knowledge and English Language. Elementary Mathematics and Physics. Familiarization and orientation. Ship Board Organization. Health Hazards and personal safety. Introduction to Industry use of life saving equipments. Use of fire frightening equipments. Survival at sea procedure accident prevention and smoking regulation. Safe working practice. First aid & Physical training with swimming. ship visits, house keeping, Hygiene food service, Cookery.
Eligibility Criteria : 12th Pass – total Average mark is 40% plus 40% in English separate either in 10th or 12th.
Age: 17 ½ to 25 Years
Duration: 6 months
Fees : Rs.1,80,000/- inclusive of Tuition fee, Board & Lodging, Uniform and books.
Medically fit as per M.S (Medical Examination of seafarers) Rules 2000. Eyesight 6×12.
