Applications in prescribed forms are invited from eligible candidates for filling up of 554 (Five hundred fifty four) vacant posts of Police Constable in Goa Police Department by direct recruitment in Pay Band – 1 ` 5200-20200 and Grade Pay ` 1900/- plus other usual allowance as admissible from time-to-time.

Age : 18 to 22 years as on the closing date for receipt of Application Forms i.e. 31.01.2014.

Essential (Male candidate) :
1. Secondary School Certificate Examination or equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum height – 168 cms.
3. Chest- Unexpanded – 80 cms and expanded – 85 cms.
4. Should undergo Physical Efficiency Test which will carry no marks but will be qualifying for further tests as follows;
i. 100 metres Run in 14 seconds.
ii. Long Jump – 4.50 metres (3 chances)
iii. Shot Put (16 lbs) – 5.60 metres (3 chances)
iv. High Jump – 1.36 metres (3 chances)
v. 800 metres Run in 2.50 minutes.
5. Should pass Written Examination and Oral Interview conducted by the Police Department.
6. Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable : 1. Knowledge of Marathi
Note: The candidate is required to undergo prescribed training.

Essential (Female candidate) :
1. Secondary School Certificate Examination or equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum height of 160 cms.
3. Weight not less than 45 kgs.
4. Should undergo Physical Efficiency Test which will carry no marks but will be qualifying for further tests as follows;
i. 100 metres Run in 16.5 seconds.
ii. Long Jump – 3.25 metres (3 chances)
iii. Shot Put (4 kgs ) – 4.50 metres (3 chances)
iv. High Jump – 1.05 metres (3 chances)
v. 200 metres Run in 36.0 seconds.
5. Should pass Written Examination and Oral Interview conducted by the Police Department.
6. Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable : Knowledge of Marathi
Note: The candidate is required to undergo prescribed training.

For Ex-Servicemen between 30 to 40 years :
Essential (Male candidate) :
1. Secondary School Certificate Examination or equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum height of 167 cms.
3. Chest- Unexpanded – 80 cms and expanded – minimum 85 cms.
4. Should undergo Physical Efficiency Test which will carry no marks but will be qualifying for further tests as follows;
i. 100 metres Run in 15 seconds.
ii. Long Jump – 4.00 metres (3 chances)
iii. Shot Put (7.26 kgs.) – 5.20 metres (3 chances)
iv. High Jump – 1.25 metres (3 chances)
v. 800 metres Run in 3.00 minutes.
5. Should pass Written Examination and Oral Interview conducted by the Police Department.
6. Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable : Knowledge of Marathi
Note: The candidate is required to undergo prescribed training.

Essential (Female candidate) :
1. Secondary School Certificate Examination or equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum height of 160 cms.
3. Weight not less than 45 kgs.

i. 100 metres Run in 17.5 seconds.
ii. Long Jump – 3.15 metres (3 chances)
iii. Shot Put (4 kgs ) – 4.15 metres (3 chances)
iv. High Jump – 1.00 metres (3 chances)
v. 200 metres Run in 37.0 seconds.
5. Should pass Written Examination and Oral Interview conducted by the Police Department.

For Ex-Servicemen above 40 years:
Essential (Male candidate) :
1. Secondary School Certificate Examination or equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum height of 167 cms.
3. Chest: Unexpanded – 80 cms and expanded – minimum 85 cms.
4. Should undergo Physical Efficiency Test which will carry no marks but will be qualifying for further tests as follows;
i. 100 metres Run in 17 seconds.
ii. Long Jump – 3.5 metres (3 chances)
iii. Shot Put (7.26 kgs.) – 5.00 metres (3 chances)
iv. High Jump – 1.10 metres (3 chances)
v. 800 metres Run in 3.15 minutes.
5. Should pass Written Examination and Oral Interview conducted by the Police Department.
6. Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable : Knowledge of Marathi
Note: The candidate is required to undergo training.

Essential (Female candidate) :
1. Secondary School Certificate Examination or equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum height of 160 cms.
3. Weight not less than 45 kgs.
4. Should undergo Physical Efficiency Test which will carry no marks but will be qualifying for further tests as follows;
i. 100 metres Run in 18.5 seconds
ii. Long Jump – 3.00 metres (3 chances)
iii. Shot Put (4 kgs.) – 4.00 metres (3 chances)
iv. High Jump – 0.90 metres (3 chances)
v. 200 metres Run in 40.0 seconds.
5. Should pass Written Examination and Oral Interview conducted by the Police Department.
6. Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable : Knowledge of Marathi
Note: The candidate is required to undergo prescribed training.

Eligibility for Sportsperson :
1. Persons who have represented State or the Country in the National or International competition in any of the Games/Sports listed below.
2. Persons who have represented their University in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board in any of these Games.
3. Persons who have represented the State School Teams in the National Sports/Games conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of these Games/Sports.
4. Persons who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under National Physical Efficiency Drive.

List of Games/Sports : Archery, Athletics (including Track and Field events) Atya-Patya, Badminton, Ball-Badminton, Basketball, Billiards and Snooker, Boxing, Bridge, Carrom, Chess, Cricket, Cycling, Equestrian Sports, Football, Golf, Gymnastics (including Body-Building), Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Karate-DO, Kayaking and Canoeing, Polo, Kho-Kho, Powerlifting, Rifle Shooting, Roller Skating, Rowing, Softball, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennikoit, Tennis, Volleyball, Weight-lifting, Wrestling and Yatching.

How to Apply :
i) The candidates possessing the above mentioned qualifications as on 31.01.2014 and possessing 15 years Residence Certificate issued by the Competent Authority may apply to the Superintendent of Police, Police Headquarters, Panaji in the prescribed Application Form. The prescribed Application Forms are available at Goa Police Welfare Cell, GRP Administrative Block, GRP Camp, Altinho, Panaji, which can be collected between 09.30 hrs. to 17.30 hrs. on all working days on payment of ` 20/- per Form.
