BIRDS (Birth and Death Registration System) :
The BIRDS project is a web based System developed by NIC, Andaman for ‘Online Registration of Births and Deaths’ occurring in A & N Islands. The project has major objectives of Web based registration from Health Centres under DHS, Printing of Birth and Death Certificates from the website and Generation of all statutory reports required by A & N Administration and Registrar General of India. The project is being implemented in all 26 registration centres in A & N Islands covering around 96 health centres in the A & N Islands. In online environment.
The BIRDS has four major objectives :
** To publish the gist of birth records on the internet, for public access by citizen.
** To enable registration centres perform online registration of birth and issue birth certificate.
** To facilitate Registrar of Birth and Death (RBD) in monitoring the birth registration activities.
** Enable RGI office and other offices of Government to get online details of registrations.
Steps to get the Gist of Birth Certificate :
Getting the Birth certificate details is quite easy. Follow the simple steps as mentioned below :
Step 1 : Choose the registration Unit where the birth was registered.
Step 2 : Provide whatever details you know about the birth, like child name, gender, registration no. etc.., However, you have to compulsorily provide year of registration.
Step 3 : The list of Birth records available will be displayed on the screen. Choose the Birth record you are searching for from the list.
Step 4 : The complete details (Gist) of Birth certificate is displayed on the screen. You can print the details on a local printer attached to a computer. However remember that, as data is voluminous, if you provide correct details, the Birth details will be retrieved faster.
Step 1 : Choose the Registration Unit:
** Registration centre below is the RBD centre where births are registered officially. Each RBD centre registers births that have taken place in near their locality.
** For example RBD centre “G.B. Pant Hospital”, with code “1”, registers all births in Port Blair area.
** Another example, PHC Garacharama, one of the RBD centre registers births occuring in Garacharama and nearby areas.
** So please choose the registration centre in the below list to start the process of getting the Birth Certificate.

Step 2: Choose year of Birth and other details
** Fields marked with * are compulsory.
** Please note registration year as below is the year in which the birth was actually registered at the registration centre. In some cases,this can be different from year of birth of child, as for example, A child born in the late December 2008 but actually registered in January 2009.

Search Tips:
To Make your search faster, Please provide following details.
** Date of Birth ( exact date )
** Sex- Either Male or Female
** Name of child – Even few characters is enough . Not case sensitive, which means you can enter lower case or upper case or a combination, Enter the “first few characters of the name.
** For example, you can give ” Ra” for searching name like “Rajesh”, “Ramesh”, “Ram Kumar” etc.,

IS THERE ANY CHANGE IN WEBSITE OR ANY MAINTANANCE GOING ON .... AM TRYING THIS SITE SINCE LAST MONTH ...
The Administration is neither updating nor maintaining the site. For namesake they say everything is online.
