Director, Central Potato Research Institute, Shimla, invites application from the Indian Citizen to fill the following posts, at Central Potato Research Institute, Shimla (HP) and its Regional Stations, under the administrative control of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi. These posts are non-government but pensionable under the ‘New Pension Scheme’ as formulated by the Government of India. Persons appointed against these posts will be entitled for HRA and other benefits as per Govt. of India Rules
Field Farm Group (Category –I) :
1. Name of the post:Technician

Pay Scale : Pay Band Rs. 5200-20200 + Rs. 2000 Grade
Essential qualification: Matriculate with one year certificate in Agriculture / Horticulture from recognized Institution with minimum percentage of makrs in Educational / Technical qualifications;
i) General & OBC candidates :55%
ii) SC/ST candidates :50%
Desirable qualification: Knowledge of Computer Applications.
Laboratory Technician Group (Category –II) :
2. Name of the post : Technical Assistant
Pay Scale : Pay Band Rs. 5200-20200 + Rs. 2800 Grade Pay

Essential qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/ Life Sciences from a recognized University with minimum percentage of makrs in Educational qualifications;

Essential qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University with Statistics as one of the main subject from recognized Institution with minimum 50% marks
Desirable qualification :
i) Post Graduate degree in Statistics or Economics from a recognized University.
ii) Diploma/short course in statistics (at least 6 months duration) from a reputed Institution.
iii) Working knowledge of MS office and statistical software(s).

4.Name of the post: Technical Assistant (Hindi Translator)
Pay Scale : Pay Band Rs. 5200-20200 + Rs. 2800 Grade Pay

Essential qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Hindi as a subject from a recognized University, with three years’ experience in Science writing and Science journalism in the concerned language as evidenced by published material.
Desirable qualification :
i) Master Degree in Hindi or English
ii) Diploma in journalism.
iii) English as one of the subject at Bachelor’s level.
Age limit: 18-30 years.
