One Day Training Programme on Human Rights 2014 :
About the Programme :
Children are one of the vulnerable group throughout the world generally and specifically in India. The social economic conditions of the country resulted in the violation of many human rights of the children which constitute considerable part of our total population. Though, The Preamble of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), 1948 addressed the issue of protection of Human Rights in general still one of the largest democracy in the world is lagging behind to protect the human rights of the nation’s supreme asset that is “Children” Several legislation have been in enacted to prohibit child labour, bonded labour, child marriage, child abuse and sexual exploitation of children and to provide justice to the juveniles yet the children throughout the country facing extreme violation of human rights at domestic level as well as their interaction with the other institutes of the society. Constitution being the basic law of the country provides a number of provisions for the protection of children however, the practical situation is not a pleasant one.
In this backdrop the training programme shall be organised with the following main objectives :
** To address all the issue relating to the violation of human rights.
** To asses various researches that is going on in the field of human rights relating to the children and Women in the national and international perspective.
** To examine the effectiveness of the various legislation policies and programmes meant for the protection of human rights.
** To throw light on the lacuna existing in the present legal order
School of Law, KIIT University, in collaboration with National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), New Delhi is going to organise a one day “Training Programme on Human Rights” on 8th February, 2014.
The focussed theme will be :
** Basic Introduction of Human Rights.
** Rights of Women and Children.
** Human Rights Institution in India.
** Rights of other vulnerable groups.
The training will be imparted by the best expertise available in the respective fields. We welcome participation from all concerned NGOs, Researcher, Academicians, Legal Practitioners, Social Workers and eligible students throughout the country.

Registration for this training programme is free and will be done before 25th January, 2014. Participants can send form by registered post on the address given below or can send the scanned copy of form to hrtraining AT kls.ac.in Participation in this training programme is limited to the first one hundred applicants only. It will be done on first come first serve basis. During the training programme, the organizers will provide food, other logistic support and course materials to all the participants. Outstation participants will be provided free accommodation by School of Law, KIIT University on reasonable prior request.
