17th Merit Scholarship Exam 2014 :
To promote merit among students, MERIT SEARCH EXAM is being conducted since last sixteen years, through which students are awarded with Merit Certificates, Educational Kit & Scholarship.

Eligibility:
Applications are invited for MERIT SEARCH EXAMINATION 2014. Students of any Govt. or Private School/College studying between Classes / Std. 5th to 10+2 may apply.

Selection : on the basis of a written test.

The Awards :
All Qualified Students get Merit Certificate & Educational Kit (Career-guide Books, Instrument, Stationary & etc.) while topper of each group gets LAPTOP & other toppers get Scholarship for one year further study.

Examination Centres :
In different District towns of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand

Medium Of Examination : English / Hindi

Date Of Examination : 27th April 2014

Qualifying Marks : 50%

Examination :
There are 4 sections in a composite paper carrying 25 marks each
(1) General Knowledge
(2) General Science
(3) Mathematics
(4) Literature : (Hindi or English).

Questions are Objective type, except literature, which are Subjective & 1st Qualifying.

Registration Fee : 300/-

Old Questions :
Previous ten years questions may be obtained on payment of ` 20/- per year per Class.

Payment :
Cash (Only at Patna Office Counter) / IPO / Bank Draft / Money Order / Net Banking; in favour of “The Secretary, National Educational Council”, Payable at “Patna”

Enclosures :
1. Two self Addressed & stamped ` 5/- Envelop of 11 x 22cm.
2. One self-addressed postcard (if submitted through post)
3. One passport size photograph (pasted on application) &
4. Registration Fee & other payments (Optional).

Important Rules :
i. Prospectus & Sample question is available on Web-Site.
ii. Admit Card is available on Web-Site, prior 15 days of Examination & is sent through Ordinary Post.
iii. Result is announced after 90 days of Exam. on web-site & all participants are intimated through ordinary post.
iv. Provision to get Photocopy of Answer-sheet after Result.
v. Students getting Scholarship for 2 consecutive years, automatically get it in the 3rd year.
vi. Dependents of any Employee/Member of the Council are debarred to apply.
vii. Payment of Scholarship is made only through Cheque/Bank Draft/M.O.
