The Commission intends to fill up the posts of Deputy Director (Distribution), Deputy Director / Tariff (Economics), Deputy Director (Planning and Power Procurement) and Deputy Director (Legal Procedures) on contract / on direct recruitment / on deputation from State / Central Government / Public Sector Undertakings.

Each post carries with it a pay band (Government of India scale) of Rs.37,400 – 67,000 with a grade pay of Rs.8,700/-. Pay plus Grade pay would be Rs.46,100/- in the minimum of the pay band. In addition to the pay, grade pay, DA, HRA shall be paid to the incumbent. Gross Pension, including the commuted value thereof, together with dearness relief shall be deducted from the monthly salary if appointed on contract basis. Deputation allowance is payable to those candidates who are eligible for such allowance.

Applications have to be made in the format appended to this notification. Applications should reach the Commission Secretary on or before 10-01-2014. Applications received after due date and time will not be considered. Commission is not responsible for any postal delay. The envelop containing the application may be superscribed as “Application for the post of _________________________”.

If the application received is incomplete or if required copies of certificates / demand draft are not enclosed, the application will not be considered. No further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
DEPUTY DIRECTOR (DISTRIBUTION):
Minimum Required Qualifications :
a) Degree in Electrical / Power Engineering.
b) 5 years experience in Transmission and Distribution with a large-power utility.
c) Direct operational experience in Transmission and Distribution.
d) Good written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Qualifications Desirable :
a) Experience in Commercial issues, Power Purchase Agreements, and / or Electricity Laws.
b) Familiarity with Electricity Tariff issues.
c) Knowledge of Economics.

DEPUTY DIRECTOR /TARIFF (ECONOMICS):
Minimum Required Qualifications :
a) Degree in Economics with specialization in Micro-Economics from a recognized University.
b) 5 years of professional experience as an Economist with either a Government department or commercial enterprise.
c) Demonstrated capability in Economic analysis, modelling and Spreadsheet and Database skills.
Additional Qualifications Desirable :
a) Good written and verbal communication skills.
b) Knowledge of accounting and principles of finance.
c) Experience and / or experience in the power sector.

DEPUTY DIRECTOR (PLANNING AND POWER PROCUREMENT):
Minimum Required Qualifications :
a) Degree in Electrical / Power Engineering.
b) 5 years experience with a large-power utility with Generation, Transmission and Distribution facilities.
c) Experience in Power System Planning and Power Procurement.
d) Good written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Qualifications Desirable :
a) Experience in Commercial issues, Power Purchase Agreements, and / or Electricity Laws.
b) Familiarity with Electricity Tariff issues.
c) Knowledge of Economics.

DEPUTY DIRECTOR (LEGAL PROCEDURES):
Minimum Required Qualifications :
a) Degree in Law from a recognized University / Law school.
b) Eligibility to practice Law.
c) 5 years of professional experience preferably in matters related to Contract and Administrative Law.
d) Excellent written and verbal communication
Additional Qualifications Desirable :
a) Experience in Utility or Regulatory Law.
b) Knowledge and / or experience in the Power Sector.
c) Experience in related litigation in Court.
d) Experience in Contract and / or Administrative Law.

The following needs to be enclosed to the application:
a) A demand draft for Rs.500/- drawn in favour of Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission, payable at Hyderabad. Payment of Fees is exempted for the reserved categories of candidates as per the Government rules. Those who are applying for deputation need not to pay the fees. Applications received without fees for the categories of direct recruitment and on contract are summarily rejected. Fees paid shall not be refunded under whatsoever circumstances.
b) In case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/BC, fresh community certificate issued not earlier than six months from the date of notification and issued by the concerned revenue official shall be produced.
c) Two recent passport size photographs placed in a small pouch in addition to the one which is pasted on the application form (total 3 photographs).
d) Self attested copy of SSC certificate as a proof of Date of Birth.
e) Self attested copies of University / Board certificates as a proof of acquiring qualifications.
f) Self attested copies of experience certificates may be enclosed. If experience certificate is given by the Personnel / HR department, a copy of the same may be enclosed. Else, appointment order and relieving order are to be enclosed.
g) A self attested copy of pension payment order indicating the gross pension may be enclosed.
