National Music Competition :
The strength and promise of any emerging economy is its youth and lndia has the iargest youth population in the world. Higher education has widens the vision of youth, gives them the ability to explore multiple avenues and opens up innumerable opportunities for their development. Higher education stimulates their creative thinking, analytical prowess and equips them to meet their thinking analytiéat prowess and equips them to meet their highest aspirations.
Expansion of Knowtedge and Research, have led to inventions which have transfon’ned the world beyond imagination. Towards Education ,Young India, the Government of Gujarat, Education Department has organized National Education Summit on January 10 and 11th, 2014 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat State, lndia. As part of the Pre Conference celebrations, the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat is hosting the national competition of Music. It will give the wings to youth to showcase their inner strength regarding music and the top performances will follow in the conference.
Therefore you are requested to send your university/college/ department entry to us, in time, you can send your entries without DVDS. The last date- for entry is extended up to 25 of December 2013. Please refer University Website www.vnsgu.ac.in for application form and other information. Looking forward to your kind co-operatio‘n for making the event successful.
The Music competition will be for Group I Solo performances, which include:
Classical Vocal
Classical instrument
Classical Percussion (Tabla)
Light Vocal
Group Song
Folk Music
General Instructions :
Eligibility: Between 16_years and 25 years as on 15 December 2013.
Applicants should send a good quatity DVD of 10 minutes duration of their performance in the chosen performance style, shot in last one year with certi?cation of proof.
A Selection Panel will view the DVD and select performers. The decision of the Panel will be Final. N0 enquiries or appeats will be entertained.
Applicants should send two recent hard copy photographs in action with high resolution for printing alongwith brief bio-data (maximurn 1 page).
Applicants selected would be given maximum 10/5 minutes as stipulated for each event. Anyone exceeding this time limit will not be considered for the award.
The selected artistes will be given local hospitality. Travel expenses will be borne by sponsoring University or artist himself as the case may be.
